Green Energy
sources are Hydroelectric, Geothermal, Nuclear, Wind & Solar
To bring every country into the 21st Century requires 300 trillion kilowatt hours (270 for Electrification and Modernization plus 30 for Exploration of Space). Clean Energy will supply seventy percent of the World’s energy, Green Energy will supply five percent and Carbon Energy will supply the remaining twenty-five percent.
Hydroelectric Energy generates electricity by water flowing from dams. The generation of electricity is flexible because the stations can change the flow of water. However, damming interrupts the flow of rivers and can harm local ecosystems, and building large dams and reservoirs often involves displacing people and wildlife. Sixteen percent of global electricity generation – 3.4 trillion kilowatt hours of electricity. For more information, please see how hydroelectric power works
Geothermal Energy comes from radioactive decay of materials in the Earth’s crust. Geothermal facilities generate about 0.068 trillion kilowatt-hours of electricity, which is enough to meet the annual needs 6 million households. For more information, please see article on Geothermal Energy.
Nuclear Energy comes from the nucleus of atoms. In 2013, there were 437 civilian operational nuclear power plants located in 31 countries. After the power plants have used only two to three percent of the energy, the spent fuel is removed and stored at the nuclear power plants. In addition, there are approximately 140 naval vessels. For more information, please visit U.S Energy Information Administration.
Wind Energy is generated from windmills that have been used for centuries. Wind turbines harness wind’s kinetic energy and convert it into electricity. The energy is also used to pumped water and ground grain. For more information, please visit American Wind Energy Association
Solar Energy comes from the Sun, which is uncontrolled fusion reactions. The Sun heats the Earth’s surface and responsible for all life. Thermal energy is necessary for wild life to exist. People have been using radiation from the sun for thousands of years in their homes and businesses. For more information, please see article on Solar Energy
Green Energy is important source of energy that helps bring every country into the 21st Century. Wars and military conflicts over energy, natural resources, and culture values along with pestilence and famine, which have plagued humanity for thousands of years, become footnotes in the history books.
